UUCSC Religious Education

The philosophy of Religious Education for the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of South County is to foster the self-worth of each individual in an inclusive environment. Our respect for the interdependent web of all existence is central to building beliefs and nurturing open mindedness. With a strong foundation, we feel that beliefs help to support actions that benefit others within our greater community. Through modeling socially responsible behavior we hope to pass on the philosophy of our liberal religious heritage.

Summer Blessings!

The Religious Education Committee and I have established the Summer schedule for Sunday School and Youth Programming. It will be as follows:

This Sunday, June 27 there will be no classes. Children are welcome to be at service with their families. The nursery is open for families to use.

JULY:
There will be no scheduled Religious Education programming for the month of July.

AUGUST:
The month of August will have an all ages program with the theme, "Caring For Our World." A seasoned teacher will lead a Sunday lesson. Each member of the RE Committee has volunteered to take a Sunday to lead and Deb (as a member, not as DRE) will take a Sunday as well. Each lead teacher is responsible for obtaining an assistant. .watch out! one of us might be calling you to help!
Again, the nursery will be open and attended by the parents/guardians using it.

There will be no formal Youth programs. However, the J. Youth Group will have one social gathering to stay connected and have fun. The Sr. Youth Group will have an end of the summer in-gathering welcoming new and incoming youth and their families...date TBA.

* REQUEST * Friends, if any of you are at a summer service and see a new/visiting family please consider youself an embassador for RE and guide them to the membership table which will have lots of info, a calendar of Summer RE and a packet they can take. There will also be a big photo display of our kids showing some of the great things happening in RE. Don't be shy....if you want to give them a tour of our classrooms, go for it!
